Wow… You guys know I am a self-proclaimed “Social Anthropologist…”
Socially Black Americans are different from any other group of people on the planet…
Yes black people are different from African-Americans and Native Americans and Hispanic Americans… African Americans technically are people who immigrated from Africa after the end of the slave trade… Black Americans are Children of the Middle passage

who are ancesters of victims of the Massive Slave trade… I spoke with an Afro – Latino and she calls any South American descendent of Slaves – “Children of the Diasora…”
Wow…  I digress…
Black Americans have faught for Civil Right/Human Rights for Centuries starting in the Revolutionary War until now which has been chronicled in the NMAAHC (which I call “The National Museum of Black American History and Culture”)…

Black Americans don’t know much about monkeys because monkeys are not native to this country…  What we do know is that for centuries white people have called Black people Monkeys or Apes – which to blacks is very degrading…

Why would White Americans refer to a people they hate as monkeys when they romance “King Kong, the planet of the Apes, and Tarzan” so much in movies???

Black Americans hate for anyone to refer to them as any kind of MonKey for several reasons: 1 – is because the monkey has been used as a really negative and derogatory reference ; 2 – we have been depicted in images/pictures as monkeys by white people in so many negative ways for years; and 3 – white people have made products such as “Sambo” to try to shame black people and scar black children to make them hate themselves (didn’t work thus James Brown – “I’m Black and I’m Proud)”…

Wow… I said all of that to show how “White People” really don’t get it…
They don’t get how their treatment for so long has really scarred us as a people because when @TamronHall made reference to some white children as “Like Monkeys” – No white person was appalled enough to say something (at least not that was reported)…

To me, this was a great unofficial unplanned “Social anthropology” test in real-time… Black parents would have been in an uproar about that comment but white people were totally unaffected… A big reason blacks dislike being referred to as monkeys is because monkeys are dumb and nasty…

So I guess white people were telling blacks that we are “dumb and nasty…”
I wrote a children’s book about a little monkey – titled
“Jambo, Just let go!!!”

Jambo is a children’s book about a little monkey who breaks the rules of the jungle and becomes trapped by his own nature. His dream allowed him to change his life and to “Just Let Go!” Jambo was then able to escape from the trap and return to his family and friends safely. http://www.lulu.com/shop/john-jacobs-and-patricia-winston/jambo-just-let-go/ebook/product-17419936.html

I got really tired of all the very negative children books about monkeys… In my children’s book, the little monkey is not black, he is not a sambo – type (if you are an adult black, you know what I mean), and he is not “DUMB…”

My book teach a lesson anyone could use to teach a life lesson… And no shade on @tamronHall but I did find this observation very interesting…
I am just saying…
Wow…  “White Americans don’t get it…”
