Wow… @TrevorNoah I wholeheartedly agree with 90% of your defense to the French Ambassador BUT I do take issue with your use of the phrase “My Nigger…” What does a guy born in South Africa to an African Mother and a White African know about this phrase??? I am just saying…

Wow… @TrevorNoah I wholeheartedly agree with 90% of your defense to the French Ambassador BUT I do take issue with your use of the phrase “My Nigger…” What does a guy born in South Africa to an African Mother and a White African know about this phrase??? Trevor My NiggerTo me it’s like me walking around here saying “My Kaffir” which has nothing to do with America… The majority of the people reading this comment have no clue what I just said…

Well thank God for google: Kaffir (alternatively kaffer; originally cafri) is an ethnic slur used to refer to a black person. In the form of cafri, it evolved during the pre-colonial period as an equivalent of “negro”.
In Southern Africa, the term was later used as an exonym for Bantu peoples…  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaffir_(racial_term)

Nigger was created by poor (educationally deficient) white British men (colonialist) here in America as a derogatory word to describe BLACK slaves bought here against their will starting in the early 1600s…  Black Americans who are culturally conscious realize that the word nigger was first included in a Merriam-Webster dictionary in 1864, at which time it was defined as a synonym of Negro, with a note indicating that it was used “in derision or depreciation…  https://www.stakeholderdemocracy.org/about-the-niger-delta/niger-delta-history/  Therefore the slave owners started using the word “Nigger” to describe slaves that for the first time did not come from the farming region of Africa but from the Niger River Valley region of Africa who were never farmers but fierce warriors and hunters…  Niger Delta 1101Which leads me to believe that the word “Nigger” came about because the educational deficient southern white slave owners couldn’t properly pronounce “Niger…”  Dick Gregory niggerTherefore please cease and desist using the phrase “My Nigger” because you are confusing educated white people of America…  You should probably do a follow-up segment to this show to clear up your use of the phrase “my Nigger” to white people because many of them – I am sure – were shocked as your “willy nilly” use of it in open dialogue…  I am just saying, take it from me, a Black American (born and raised descendent of a slave and a Native Lumbee) you shocked a lot of white folks…  F.Y.I. My phrat Brother Dick Gregory wrote a book titled “Nigger;” you should read it…

President Johnson called Dr. King  “a nigger preacher”…  So you see “Nigger” has a really long history here in America because whites have never stopped using it as a derogatory phrase against “Blacks…”

Yes Black people – I am a Black American not an African American like you Trevor that why it feels different to me…  I am just saying…   Ok for more clarity an African American – like you Trevor – came here by Airplane not as slaves in the bottom of ships…  Some wicked white people I believe would love for Black Americans who are descendents of Slavery to erase that part of their history and only refer to themselves as African American like Africans who are johnny come lately here on Airplanes…  But I refuse to not remember and embrace my history as a proud Black American of African and Native ancestry because it is why I am me and why God is so important in my life…  Because it took a big God to bring Black people through all that hardship to become the people we are today…  I believe all white people save Mrs. Viola Liuzzo and white people like her are guilty of the sin of omission for not standing up against the wrongs our society still endure as a result of the PTSD of Slavery; but that’ s a different topic for a different day…
