Wow…
This stuff just keeps getting gooder and gooder…
I am really experiencing PTDS (Post Traumatic Debate Stress) following this culturally historical event… I am still bouncing off the walls with disbelief on the one hand and exhilaration on the other…

Needless to say, “I am conscious to the seriousness of this time we are living through and how dramatically it will effect us all for the distance future…”

In order to reduce some of my anxiety, I began to surf the net to see what other people were talking about… Well needless to say, there was a lot of “Buzz” going on… To my surprize, I wasn’t alone in my PTDS… From the looks of things on the net, everyone has an opinion about this debate…
And more surprizing to me, lots of them were from other countries…
Now as you all know, I am a cultural commentator, therefore I am interested in how our present happenings are effecting us “Culturally!”

Culturally, we are experiencing some of the most dramatic shifts in our society than ever in our cultural history… These shifts are so pronounced that their effects are present in our now…
Wow…
Therefore, this election is most important because the winner will determine the direction we will either continue to go in or the change we will face…
There are thousands, if not millions of bloggers, who are voicing their concern and relieving the pressure…
In order to get a cultural perspective of the black community I narrowed things down to bloggers of African decent…
I was impressed with several but to name a few “Afrospear and Afrosphere” really got my attention…

Wow…

The “Buzz” was at an extremely high pitch and climbing on these blogs…
Everyone was blogging about the debates in respect of how Obama is treated vs McCain…
I am sure you can see the distinction…
But ( the big but in the room) one “cultural thread” that was quite apparent was the fact that so many voices and no central focus point…
So a lot of talk but no action…
Sounds familiar???
I hope that culturally “we as a people of color” can come together all around the world in one forum to promote social consciousness, awareness, and equality…
Sounds pliable???
Pliable it is, but (big fat but in the room) do-able, that’s the question???
Just a thought…

Wow…

Reading all these post really relieved the pressure and inspired me to write…
Culturally, I don’t believe we the people are that different when it comes to the “macro community!” We all need to eat, sleep, drive, and work… So culturally we are all experiencing the same things… Therefore, we the people must come together in one voice to let the world know how we truly feel…
Now we do have major cultural differences in our “micro communities” that will always cause friction but (another big black but in the room) as time goes on, one can only hope that these differences will become lesser…
One thing this season of historical politics has brought about is the resurgence of “black media faces” on mainstream news networks…

We can thank Obama for that…
SOL!!!
But (wow, buts everywhere) Obama can’t do it all by himself… It will take all of us, “we the people,” to bring about the change we all can believe in…

Wow…

SOL (scream out loud)!!!
I am finally coming off this serious “debate high!”
And after all these blogs, I have a fresher veiwpoint of the world I live in… Surprizingly enough we the people are sounding off mostly about the same things; the economy, no bailout, and why cant we have government without fear…

Wow…

Simple ordinary, everyday people kind of stuff…
Huh???

Wow…
PTDS aint no joke…

“Obama vs McCain: The PTDS Buzz!!!”

Wow…

Ain’t this some really exciting stuff… Obama and Hillary for president of the United States of America is my bet… I know what they are saying on all the networks, “Hillary on tuesday night and the Veep on Wednesday night, therefore the “Veep” must not be Ms Hill… ”

Wow…
Ladies and gentlemen, tell them you heard it from me first, the best hand on the table is the one you don’t have to play… When the table is running in your favor, you make the rules… Obama has done everything in his campaign with a strong sense of culture and history in mind… He has taken this political season to a place it has never been before; “Rock Star status…” The table is His and all bets are off…

There are 18 Million and one reasons for Hillary to be the VP… Putting history aside, the one best being “Hillary is the most qualified for the job…”
Who else can boast to having 18 Million Dems waiting with halted breath to hear those magical words, “Ms Hill – The Veep!!!”
Dah!!!!
Can you say, “Win Win Ticket baby!!!”

I know what all the “haters” are saying, but (there is that big but again) this is about “Culture, History, and Legacy…”
So all you “Hillary Haters meet the History Makers,” “BO and Hill” the hottest political “Rock Stars” of our time…

“Do you???”
“Do you feel me???”
“Do you feel like I do???”
“Let me hear you say, “Yes, yes, yes we can!!!””

“Ms O” is dancing… Dance Ms O, dance!!!”
Wow…
Ain’t this some exciting stuff…

Now you know I like to keep it exciting…

What’s the hottest ticket in town,

“The BO-Hill…”

Wow…This is some pretty exciting stuff…
“Do you feel me???”
“Do you???”
“Do you feel like I do???”
(Come on Peter and WIll-I-Am… Do this thing…)
“Let me hear you say,
“Yes, yes, yes we can!!!””

“18 Million and one…”

“Black – N – America!”

Wow…

Does this stuff keep getting more and more exciting or what???
Check it…
Another night of CNN’s doc “Black in America…”
Did I say before now that “no matter how you present crap, it still smells like crap???”

Wow…
“This doc is still crap…”

The pre – doc interviews are better than the doc itself…
Thank God they are because without them we would be dished up some really nasty stuff – if you know what I mean?

Ms Oreo, had the Audacity to preface this crap by the following:
“What it’s like to be “Black in America?”

“Give – me – a – break…”
“That’s the biggest fairy tale I have ever seen…”
“Yeah, what Bill said…”

As a good friend of mine put it, “if this is what it is like being black in America then we as a people (of American) are in trouble… No wonder “whites in America” think about us the way they do if this crap is a true reflection of “Black – N – America… “”

Who’s the blame???
Well “culturally,” we as a people are where we are as a direct result of “1441…”
“So don’t believe the Hype?”
Where is “Chuck” when you need him…

The following is my response to the “Hype!”

“Ancestry, Predecestry, and Successtry: Black – N – America…”
Never forget…

We’ve lived through;
persecution, mutilation, social devastation, excruciating pain;
bondage, shackles, thrashings, bashings;
the ravaging of the motherland.

We’ve survived starvation,
dehydration, inflammation, that horrible trip;
tossing, tipping, constant dripping, sea sickness;
the belly of the ship…

We’ve endured indignation,
humiliation, sequestration,
the stripping of our souls;
Desecration, degeneration, castration,
the market place,
being sold…

We’ve drudged through war,
brother against brother, blood, mason dixon,
the blue and the grey;
Destruction, emancipation, reconstruction,
forty acres, broken promises;
What mule?
No pay…

We’ve overcome racism,
discrimination, segregation, deprivation,
generations of being second class…
Alienation, degradation, mortification,
all sorts of derogatories;
thank God free at last…

Now we live with a simulation of freedom,
equality, prosperity, liberty,
and justice for all…

The black, the green, the red, the white, the blue;
African, American;
Standing strong;
Standing tall…

So never, never, never, never;
Never Forget!!!

“The Ancestors Speak!!!”

Now run and tell that…

“Black – N – AMerica!”

“Jesse’s “Unresolved Issues” with Obama…””

Wow…

This stuff just keeps getting gooder and gooder…
Did I say, “Wow or what???”

Ok, let get right at it…
Check it, in church this weekend at CCC, the young minister began his sermon with a very familiar scripture, “John 8:1-11” the woman caught in adultery. He then took the topic “Unresolved Issues…”
Wow…
My mind immediately flashed to the “Jesse and Obama” Drama… I said out loud, “that’s it; Jesse’s unresolved issues” with Obama…”” The young minister went on to say that all the accused accusers were holding stones… These were stones of inferiority; stones of envy; stones of jealousy; stones of strife; stones of prejudices; so forth and so on!
Wow…
That was really a powerful statement…

I began to see clearly the “Cultural dynamics” between these two Brothas from the same hood…
It was obvious that Jesse has “unresolved issues” with Obama…
It is obvious that Jesse is holding all the stones the young minister spoke about…
Now the next question was why???

Why was Jesse holding all these stones against Obama???
What were the issues that caused Jesse to “implode before he exploded” on a National news network… Well, as the young minister so eloquently put it, “we all have unresolved issues… Just as the accused, we all must address these issues individually… And just as each of her accusers did, we must all drop our stones and move on… “

Wow…
That’s some powerful stuff…
So has Jesse resolved his issues with Obama…?
I dare say not…
I doubt he has even called Obama…
I believe that Jesse’s issues are built on the stones of jealousy and envy… I believe it is time for Jesse to do as Jesse Jr. said, “Stop and Keep hope alive…” Jesse needs to stop trying to be the “next great black leader” because his time is in its twilight stage… Jesse has done some great things during his watch but (wow, a big but in the room) now it is time for new leadership… If Jesse really wants to maintain his legacy, he needs to spend the rest of his time choosing his successor… These aint the sixties, these be the zero years… There is a highly motivated generation of twenty and thirty-something eagerly waiting respectfully to take their turn… So Jesse, do what your mantra has been for years, “keep hope alive” in your successor…

I have from a very reliable source that Jesse’s Rainbow PUSH recent convention was lacking something that Obama has quite successfully conquered in all of his “rock star” campaigning, “Twenty and Thirty something’s…” Yes, there is a major disconnect between the old leaders and the young leaders… This is a reflection on the leadership (of PUSH) not a lack of twenty and thirty somethings that are ready and willing to lead… But (there goes that big but again) Obama has reinvigorated millions of twenty and thirty somethings… This group has become the largest most culturally conscious “registered” voting block since the sixties… And as the young minister stated in his closing remarks, “ we all have our own dirty windows that need cleaning before we try to throw a stone at someone else’s window…”
Can you feel me???
Do you feel like I do???
Let me hear you say,

“Yes, yes, yes we can…

Now, you all know, I like to keep it exciting…
America has its own “unresolved issues” that must be dealt with… CNN is doing a series call, “what it is like being black in America???” This along speaks volumes about the “unresolved issues” we as Americans face everyday… Ms O’Brien is probably not the right person to host this series because “she herself could have”unresolved issues” about her Blackness!!!”” I Believe Ms Phillips would have done a better job because she does not have a dog in the race… Ms Phillips did an excellent job with an earlier documentary “Noose!”

Yes, America has its own “unresolved issues” that is apparent by the way we are addressed and handled by “the news media” in general… Again, I have it from a very reliable source that “the news media” sometimes treats us as “Monkeys!” It was very obvious at the PUSH convention, my source said… They don’t take us seriously…
And when a Jesse does a stunt, it simply reinforce their actions… Therefore if we are thought of as “monkeys” instead of serious people of color, then there is no wonder we as a people is so divided…
Monkeys can’t read…
Get the picture???
Whose fault is it???
That’s simple; it is all of our fault…
Firstly, the news media, because they have fired all the people of color from the (neighbor) hood…
Secondly, black leaders like Jesse, whose actions reinforce this notion…
Dah…
And thirdly, the rest of us people of color who sit back and say nothing…

Wow…
Isn’t that some messed up stuff???
So what do we say to these things???
I don’t know exactly but (and there is that big black but again) one thing is for certain, it is time for the next generation to step up and say something for themselves…

Jesse’s “unresolved issues” with Obama…

Does “Ms BO” Know???

Posted in African American, African American Men, african american women, Africans, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Black Historical Colleges, Black Men, Black Women, Blacks, Blogs, Culture, Hillary Clinton, Media, Men, Ms O, Political, Politics, Spoken Word Artist, students, Uncategorized, white men, white women with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on July 8, 2008 by John Jacobs

“Ms BO” might have a thang with “Ms O,” But she seems to have no deal for “Hill or Bill…”

Wow…
This stuff just keeps getting gooder and gooder…
Let’s get right at it…

While in a culturally conscious conversation it was brought to me attention that “Ms BO” could very well be a stumbling block for “Ms Hill” becoming number two…
Ooooooh Nooooo!!!
Don’t say it is soooooo!!!
Well I would not bet the farm on it but as betting goes the odds are looking good… For me it has been “Mr. Hill” I thought had the problem, but “Mr. Hill” stepped up to the bat and tipped his hat… So of course, the Obama camp gets the tag… Now we know that “Ms BO” might have a thang with “Ms O,” But “Ms BO” seems to have no deal for “Hill or Bill…”

Like I said, “I would not bet the farm on it but the odds do look good…”
Let me explain…
First of all, Out of the foursome, “Ms BO” is the only one that has not step up to the bat and let her position be known… Hat or no hat, “Ms BO” must be conscious to the fact that culturally she is the most influential black woman in the world…

So now, the odds are getting better by the minute… The other thing is “Ms BO” by her nature as a black woman, and believe me I know “Black Women,” has a long memory… Black women don’t forget quickly… They will smile with you, carry on conversation with a smile, but (and boy is this is a big black but in the room) when the time is right, she will tell you how some eons before you said, “………” Man, you be totally forgotten about it, in your mind it is all over, but (there’s that big black but again) she (black woman) will bring it back to your memory… Yes, the odd are getting better and better… Oh wow, I am reaching for my Benjamins already…
Last but (Yeap big black but) certainly not least, it is “a woman thang…” Yes, I said it… Culturally for eons women just have not been able to get along… Now I am not saying that they won’t work together but (another big and I mean big black but in the room) they will use everything in their arsenal to take the top position… The Alpha female if you will… Oh yeah “BO” might know something about “politics but (Yeap another big one in the room) “BO” better know something about “the nature of women…” Where is “Van Zandt” when you need her??? Oh Yes, oh yes, I have got to get me a piece of this action… I can hear
“Ms G” right now and it ain’t pretty…

Wow…
Ain’t this some exciting stuff or what???

Now why don’t you just “Run and tell that!!!” LOL!!!

“Does “Ms BO” Know???”

“Did Black Women Drop the BallII???”

Wow…
Ain’t this some exciting stuff???

I got so much feedback from this post that it inspired me to post this one comment and then give my response…
But first rewatch this clip below if you have not… Then check out the following comment and my response…
So check out the video link below and you tell me “what is really going on???”

Black Women Dropped the Ball(Attitude,Weave and Disrespect)The most popular videos are a click away

So what the problem is???

So check out this comment From Ms Huff in her own words:

You asked me to comment on the post “Did Women Drop the Ball” so here it is. First of all, it seems as though this young lady is referring to “all black women”, and I don’t feel like that is the case. Our ancestors brought us from “a mighty long way”, and our older generations has continuously fought for our younger generations to take a look at where we have come from and be proud of who you are. Unfortunately, a lot of the younger generations have taken the term “freedom of speech” to a whole new level. With the new laws about what we can and can’t do with our own children, the inability to protect and raise our kids the way our ancestors did, and the government being able to screw us anyway they want to, its not a wonder that our young people are falling between the cracks. Please don’t put this on the black women as a whole. Its a combination of people doing what you have to do to survive, men and women not having the strong sense of respect for each other that was so evident years ago when there was no such thing as You Tube, My Space, etc. The size of your butt, the color of your hair, eyes, etc has nothing to do with whether or not you are trying to be something you are not – it has to do with your spirit. GOD made all of us equal, so if you want to wear your hair long and blonde or short and nappy, that is your preference, and that won’t make you a better person then the next, it is what is in your soul. Since almost the beginning of time, women found out that “sex sales” and they have been exploited or have exploited themselves to do what was needed to take care of themselves and their families. I am not saying that it is right, I am saying that it is a way of life, and at this day in time, women just don’t do it to survive, they do it for fun and to get what they want. However, if the men weren’t there asking for it, they would have to figure out a new way of earning money, i.e. going to school, getting a job, etc. So for me, the bottom line is that its not just the black women that are at fault, its the black women, men, white, women, men, the government, the society, and the times we are living in. I am just very hopeful that Mr. Obama will give our young black people a new source of pride and reason to change their way of thinking.

Wow…
Was that awesome or what???
I got alot of feedback but none like this comment… I hope to hear from the rest of you…
As a “Culturally Conscious” commentator, I was emphatically culturally invigorated to spit this piece… Here it is real, right at you, and with feeling…

If it is a brotha thing then here is a piece from a brotha who understand your pain my beautiful black sistas…

Hello my beautiful black sista,
You have inspired me to write so here it is, fresh off the cuff… I hope you like it… J…

I speak from my heart, I know you question whether or not I am the true black brotha that will be there for you… Whether I will be the true black brotha that you can feel free to trust with your heart, body, and soul… Whether I am the true strong black brotha who you can’t wait to come home too… The true strong beautiful intellegent black brotha who sends chills up and down your spill when he calls your name… The true strong intellegent witty black brotha who you can feel free to give yourself totally too… Who’s strong black arms become your refuse and sanctuary, a place of serenity and peace for you… I truly believe that I am more than up to the challenge of the creed… But more than that, I believe that our black sistas are worth us black brothas stepping up our game… I believe the line that states, “and if I forget it, remind me” speaks volumes of the right attitude a true black brotha must have…

Yes, my beautiful black sista, I believe I must be able to handle it for you and all the beautiful black sistas every where, for if not I then who??? Who knows you the way I do, my black sista??? Who sees you the way I do, my beautiful sista??? Who’s lips fit yours the way mine do, my beautiful black sista??? Who’s ass rolls in perfect rythum to yours as mine do, my strong beautiful black sista… And who’s sperm can unite with your egg to create another of God’s perfect creations that looks like me and you my strong intelligent beautiful black sista???
Only your true black brotha, my strong intelligent articulate beautiful black sista…

So I must, we must, step up to the challenge inspite of our pass reputation… For that is the only way, another generation of black sistas and black brothas will be able to walk the planet knowing each time they look into the mirror that we made this pledge…

Besides that there aint nothing more sweeter, with an aroma more appealling, and looks more tastee, than your “Deep Dish Blue Berry Pie!!!” Yum Yum…

Can I have some???

Force feed me, please…

J. Angus John

Now talk to me… If you feel me… IF you feel my sistahs who stood up to let their voices be heard… I got lot of calls today, but put your comment on this blog and stand up and be heard like a true beautiful black sista… Or “did you drop the ball???”
Hummmmm???
This matter is too serious to play with it… You got something to say, then say it….
We are all listening…
We will never fix it if we don’t address it… Call everyone you know… Call “Ms O!”
Call “BO!”
Text, write, and email every brotha and sista you know… It is that serious… Otherwise, this sista is right, you did drop the ball??? Dah…

Let me feel you….

Otherwise Shut-Da-F__K-Up!!!
Because you are the problem and has chosen that you don’t want to be apart of the solution… Or you Dropped the ball and don’t give a Damn… The one thing I can not consciously stomach is just negativity toward the black sista that have the audacity to “Bring it!” Raw, with feeling, and a strong ancestral vibe that cannot be denied…

So where do you stand…

“Did Black Women Drop the BallII???”

“The Women In BlackII!”

Wow…
This stuff keeps getting gooder and gooder…
I just want to know something…
Tell me if you feel the way I do…

Do you???
Do you???
Do you feel the way I do???
Let me hear you say, “Yes, Yes, yes we can!!!”
(Where is Peter when you need him???)

What a vibe…
A cultural collide of consciousness and movement… And a cultural unification of generations, the sixties – zero kids coalition…
Wow, the Dems are dancing in the streets…
What a vibe…
Make you want to “shake a tail feather…”

But (here is another big but in the room) before I go further, let me check out “whats going on with Bill?”
Lets start off with “The new deal Bill.” It looks like Bill has finally gotten the picture… It may be a polaroid picture but (another big but in the room) it looks like he has gotten the picture… So what will his role be in the future??? Well that remains to be seen but (and there is another big but in the room) whatever it is, I am sure he will suffer from PMS again(Power, Money, and Sex)… It kinda comes in cycles if you know what I mean???
LOL…

Wow…
Aint this some good stuff???

This aint the sixties kids generation, this is the “zero kids generation!”
And like the sixties kids, the zero kids are forging a new tomorrow while making a cell phone video clip of “the new color of Unity” for You Tube… Watch out world, the zero kids are now on board, and throttling up… They have decided not to be known by the designator of their generation (zero), but to write in history a new measurement for their designator…

Wow…
Do you feel me???
DO you???
Do you feel like I do??? (sixties kids song)
If so,
Let me hear you say, “Yes, yes, yes we can…” (with a zero kids hook)
Wow…
This is some good stuff…
Aint it???
This is the most patriotic week of the year…
BO and J- Mc are still being very secretive about their potential VP candidate…
So the bookies are having a field day…
This must be the hottest pick in the world… I can hear it now, “Gimme Fifty on Condi and J-Mc… Or If BO knows then he will choose Hill and Bill, so gimme fifty boxed on the three…
LOL…
But (yes another big black but in the room) the wild card in the generals are the “women in black…” As Wesley said in Passenger 57, “always bet on Black!!!”
That is in this case “the women in black…”
There are several categories of these women in black…

First of all, are “the Women in Black” who are moaning for a fallen soldier from Iraq… These women in black will have a major effect on the generals… Most if not all will rally behind Obama because of his take on the war…

The second group of “the women in Black” are those young single upwardly mobile mocha latte drinkers who are in the black…that’s financially speaking… This group of “the women in black” are really into Obama because of his physical responsibility… These women in black trust that“ BO knows” how to fix the financial woes of our country and pay off Hillary’s debts…

The final group the women in black are those women that hate Hillary but (and another big black but in the room) want the ultimate woman in black – Condi, VP for J-Mc….
These women in black are die hard Reps who are J-Mc’s best chance for a true run for the office but ( again another but in the room) only if J- Mc has the sense to choose Condi as a VP candidate…
Wow…
Now that’s what I call Patriotism…

Now you know I like to keep it exciting…
Check it, the one group of women that I did not address was “the women in Black” culture…
This group of women in Black are a force to be heard and not denied… This group is the most neglected and the most misunderstood, but (now this is really a big black but in the room) the powerful group of women in Black in the world… “The women in Black” culture are “the true cultural phenom” that even though they are the majority, they have never been respected for it… “The women in Black” culture are now at the crossroads of “cultural consciousness” coming into their own and refusing to be denied…
So if the Dems are not conscious to this fact the Reps will sway “these women in black” simply by acknowledging them… And most importantly, “the women in Black” culture are not necessarily devoted to color… These women in black are more loyal to the person who they believe feels there vibe… The person or party that allows their voices to be heard… As I said earlier, “the women in Black” culture will not be denied this time…
No not again…
The Dems are going to have to bring it with this group of “the women in Black” to keep them on board… Unlike all the other groups, laying out their position once will not work… Because they have been denied for so long, this group of “the women in Black” will need the constant reasurance that they are still a part of this political process…
Do you feel me???
I hope so…

“The women in black…”
